Discovering Forgotten Love in Gurgaon

It was a cold February evening when Aryan stepped into the dimly lit antique bookstore on the outskirts of Gurgaon. The store smelled of aged paper and forgotten memories, a place where time seemed to stand still. He wasn’t looking for anything in particular—just an escape from the loneliness that Valentine’s Day had brought.

The Letter

As he ran his fingers along the dusty spines of books, his eyes landed on a peculiar leather-bound journal with no title. Something about it intrigued him. He picked it up and flipped through its pages, only to find them filled with handwritten letters—letters that seemed to tell a story.

Curious, he sat down in a quiet corner and began reading.

“To My Dearest Aisha,”

The first letter started with affection, a love so deep that Aryan felt an unfamiliar ache in his heart. The letters spanned over months, detailing a love story between a man named Veer and a woman named Aisha. Their love was passionate, but something about the letters felt unsettling.

As he read on, the tone of the letters changed.

“Aisha, I saw you again today, standing by the old clock tower. You looked different, distant, as if you didn’t remember me. I called your name, but you just walked past. Have you forgotten me?”

Aryan frowned. The next few letters were filled with confusion and longing. It seemed Veer and Aisha had once been deeply in love, but suddenly, Aisha had stopped recognizing him.

Then came the last letter.

“Aisha, they say you never knew me. That we never met. But how can that be? I remember every detail—the way you laughed, the way you held my hand as we watched the rain. I refuse to believe you were just a dream. I will find you again, no matter what.”

There were no more letters after that. Aryan sat there, puzzled. Had Veer lost his mind? Or was there something more to this story?

Just then, the bookstore owner, an elderly man with silver hair, approached him. “I see you’ve found the journal,” he said, his voice calm but knowing.

“Do you know who wrote these?” Aryan asked.

The old man sighed. “That journal belonged to a young man, Veer, many years ago. He was deeply in love with Aisha, but one day, she just… forgot him. As if their love had been erased from her memory.”

“How is that possible?” Aryan asked, his skin tingling.

“No one knows,” the man said. “Some say it was a curse. Others say Aisha was never real.”

A chill ran down Aryan’s spine. He thanked the man and left the store, the journal still in his hands.

As he walked past the old clock tower, he froze. A girl stood there, her hair flowing in the evening breeze. She was staring at the tower as if searching for something.

Aryan’s heart pounded. He had seen her before—in the letters.

“Aisha?” he whispered.

The girl turned, her eyes locking with his. For a brief moment, something flickered in her expression—recognition, confusion, and then… nothing.

She walked past him, just as she had walked past Veer.

Aryan stood there, gripping the journal tightly, realizing that some love stories never end. They just wait to be remembered.
